While planing to upgrade z14 GA1 to GA2 driver, the customer asks IBM to prepare guaranteed contingency revert plan in the case of GA2 driver causes the customer's production system failure. Unlike MCL apply, GA2 driver upgrade includs lots of new functions and pre PTFs, CFCC level change, so it is such a big event for the customer. As we contacted to Z AP PE team to guide GA2 to GA1 revert plan but the answer was "No support for downgrading driver and if the failure occurs, PE will try to fix it". However the customer will never accept such answer because they cannot estimate how long time they need to stop their system until PE fix a failure. The client needs to plan a detailed time schedule for GA2 driver upgrade and it must be included a contingency plan which is detailed and clear how long required to return their system to normal operation. So the customer desires IBM to provide GA2 to GA1 downgrade option.
