HMC Support for Secure SMTP and SMTP Authentication

We have setup e-mail alerts within the HMC that are critical to the operation of our systems. We have a requirement internally to remove insecure SMTP and use Secure SMTP with Authentication. Currently, the HMC does not support Secure SMTP (TLS) or SMTP authentication. This request is to add Secure SMTP and SMTP support for the System Z HMC.

    Hello

    As this is not really a feature enhancement request, this is a real security concern as without TLS and authentication support (as described here https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc4954). We really lacking from this and looking forward to get that handled by IBM with the appropriate priority.

    Yes, it's for the Monitor System Events. Those events are sent by e-mail. Currently it only supports insecure SMTP. We would like Secure SMTP support added.
