HMC/SE capability to send heartbeat notifcations

We have a requirement that sources of event messages that send events to our monitoring solution are also able to send heartbeat style events to indicate their continued ability to send events as and when they do occur, thereby providing a method to alert upon any issues in our ability to capture important events, i.e. the lack of a heartbeat will alert us to a problem somewhere in the infrastructure.

Our IBM Z HMCs which currently send important hardware event messages, such as Exception State and Hardware messages, do not have the capability to do this.

I would like to see functionality added to the HMC and SE that allows the customer to configure such a heartbeat event via their preferred method (i.e. SNMP or Web Services), on a customer defined interval.  Configuration for this would most likely reside in the Customize API panel.

I note there are several references to "heartbeat" in the "Audit, Event, and Security Log Messages".  Whether this is the type of heartbeat I'm looking for, I would prefer a dedicated heartbeat to be sent without also having to send other "Audit, Event, and Security Log Messages" over the network.
