System Recovery Boost - Monitoring of zIIPs

Hello IBM, We've been checking the workings of SRB on our z15s and I came across the following problem ... At shutdown of z/OS via GDPS or System Automation, STC IEASDBS is started and it sets reserved zIIPs online. So far so good. At IPL, due to PARMLIB(IEASYS00) PRESCPU in all our systems, the zIIPs are online and remain online, even after the 60 minutes IPL-boost period. We added a start for STC IEABE (S IEABE,SUB=MSTR) towards the end of our shutdown process and now the zIIPs are taken offline before the system is eventually stopped. Then they are brought online at IPL and offline after 60 minutes by SRB. So now things look a lot better. Due to us being initially unaware that resevered zIIPs were online after IPLs on numerous systems (until it was recognised that a start of IEABE was needed at shutdown), we'd like you to implement checking procedures. For example, a z/OS Health Check which: 1. Checks the HMC activation profile for the LPAR against the actual situation in the system and flags differences.. and also 2. Checks the pre-IPL reserved zIIP situation with the post-IPL situation and flags differences. Many thanks in advance. Regards, Kevan Dunstan
