Add proxy settings to the Z/OSMF workflow for zCX

Hi,

For a user to be able to download containers from the outside world from a zCX SSH prompt when you are behind a proxy they all must run "export http_proxy=..." commands. I think that is quite awkward. Especially since you have to do it every time you login unless you add it to your .bashrc file or similar. And since the users have different levels of knowledge I think it should be added centrally somehow.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to add proxy settings to the workflow for zCX? Maybe it could be written into /etc/environment  or something.

Maybe it could be added to the ~/.docker/config.json file as well? I assume that could be more tricky since that must be done after which the user is created. But it would be nice!

    Hi,
Proxy support for zCX is already available. You can configure PROXY for the Docker daemon, or for the container user, or pass as environment variable for new container deployments. please take a look at this documentation: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.2.0?topic=registries-docker-proxy-support-zcx-instances and let us know.

    Thanks.
