Add REST API to automate “Retrieve End of Service Information” in z/OSMF Software Management

In the z/OSMF Software Management task, the General Availability (GA) and End of Support (EOS) values for installed products are only refreshed when a user manually invokes the “Retrieve End of Service Information…” action through the GUI. These values are based on the IBMProductEOS.txt feed located at:
https://public.dhe.ibm.com/services/zosmf/JSONs/IBMProductEOS.txt

Our environment already makes extensive use of Software Management Inventory (SWI) REST APIs, specifically:

  • PUT /zosmf/swmgmt/swi/<swi-uuid>/products
  • GET /zosmf/swmgmt/swi/<swi-uuid>

These endpoints allow us to keep product information and reporting automated.
However, the GA/EOS values exposed through these APIs remain outdated until a person manually clicks the GUI button. This manual prerequisite introduces operational delays and prevents fully automated reporting and integration of lifecycle data.
