Expose FMID on public APAR pages for clear product identification

Currently, APAR web pages do not always display the related FMIDs. When FMIDs is missing, customers cannot always determine with confidence which product or component the APAR belongs to and create product aware automations for APARs. .

This creates ambiguity during APAR review and analysis, increases manual investigation effort, and may lead to incorrect classification or routing. In practice, the APAR text alone, especially Reported component ID, may sometimes not be sufficient to identify the exact product clearly.

Please include the FMIDs as a standard field on every public APAR web page, displayed clearly and consistently.

Making FMIDa visible on APAR pages would:

  • improve product and component identification,
  • reduce manual effort during analysis and triage,
  • lower the risk of misclassification,
  • enable customer-side automation for APAR tracking, classification, routing, and reporting.

Adding FMIDs to APAR web pages would significantly improve usability and make APAR data more actionable for customers.
