Store number of volumes in status MASTER and USER in the DFSMSrmm control record

Today only the number of rack numbers, number of empty rack numbers, number of bin numbers and number of empty bin numbers are stored in the DFSMSrmm control record. From my point of view, the total number of volumes, the number of volumes in MASTER status, and the number of volumes in USER status should also be stored in the control record. It is no overhead, because the control record will be changed for a new created data set up to 7 times.

f this information is stored in the DFSMSrmm control record, then it will be displayed more quickly in z/OSMF. Today, the DFSMSrmm control data set is searched three times to retrieve this information. In a large environment, this can take several minutes and consumes a significant amount of resources. Further information can be found under Additional Details.

The best result is that a value is displayed for each media category:
CST = 0 Master, 0 Scratch and Total = 0
ECCST = 659.123 Master, 37.877 Scratch and Total 697.000

and so on

Best regards

Norbert
