This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The HMC is the platform hardware management console, yet for OSA/SF this function had been spread across multiple operating systems. This functionality was consolidated onto the HMC for OSA Express5S (and all future) cards. Since the initial introduction of HMC support we have added functionality to the HMC in this area, specifically relative to the Query OAT function. If there is still some information you feel is lacking, we would be happy to consider adding it. In regard to the security concern, the HMC provides a very fine granular approach to authorizing userids to perform tasks on various objects. It is not required to grant full sysprog access to anyone simply to manage OSA/SF functionality for a set of OSA cards. Here too we would be happy to engage in a 1:1 conversation/demo of how one might configure such a userid with limited access. Moving to Declined status.
