This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Our company uses zNFS to facilitate data transfers between z/OS and AIX servers. Our zNFS servers always used to run with the default CTINFS00 settings: Info, Warning, Error, and FFDC (mode="ON"). Following a recent incident in our production environment, these settings led to a significant increase in CPU usage over a prolonged period, buffer shortages, and flooding of the NFS log with logic error messages: GFSA304I and GFSA308I. We have decided to change our defaults by turning off: Info and Warning (only Error and FFDC remain enabled), effectively reducing the tracing level to "MIN" mode.
If the tracing mode is not in "MIN" mode, ie. full tracing mode ("ON"), then the MVS Health Checker should be used to detect and generate an exception (alert).
