This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The capability to move the Sysplex Distributor responsibility from one LPAR to another is already available using the VARY TCPIP,,SYSPLEX,DEACTIVATE,DVIPA=xx.xx.xx.xx command. This command can be issued on the Sysplex Distributor system that is experiencing the High CPU utilization conditions to trigger the movement of the Sysplex Distributor responsibility to another z/OS system in the sysplex that has been designated as backup for this DVIPA. If multiple backups exist. the highest ranked backup will assume the Sysplex Distributor responsibility. Note that existing TCP connections are not affected by this movement and this LPAR continues to be a target for new connection requests for this DVIPA if it designated a possible target. The movement of the DVIPA occurs as soon as the command is issued. To restore the Sysplex Distributor function to the original LPAR once CPU resource contention has been resolved, a VARY TCPIP,,SYSPLEX,REACTIVATE,DVIPA=xx.xx.xx.xx command can be issued. Issuing of these commands can be automated to allow for these dynamic movements to occur under the desired conditions for the installation.
