PTF CHECKSUM TO VERIFY INTEGRITY

A shipped PTF should contain an MD5 checksum, or signature which SMPE can verify to insure that the PTF content has not been altered. The customer should have the option of a BYPASS if the alteration is deliberate and justified.

This request has been satisfied in spirit with GIMZIP package signing support delivered in APAR IO28360 for SMP/E 3.7 in December 2022.

Signatures would be nice. SMP/E should check those during an APPLY (and APPLY CHECK of course) and use a list of CAs (could be in e.g. in RACF) to accept SYSMODs by trusted parties only. I think our auditors would be happy to see this too.

In addition a BYPASS(CERTERR) or BYPASS(NOCERT) would be handy to force in PTFs that have missing or defective signatures.
