ISMF / Naviquest dasd list device type

Currently ISMF / Naviquest when generating a dasd list for device type for any 3390 device greater than a mod-9 as mod-9.

I know that the reason ISMF shows all the volumes as 3390-9 is because there really is no such device as a 3390 mod27 or mod54, all devices defined as larger than a mod9 will be reported as a 3390-9 with however many cylinders you have defined it as.

However, we can get this information by issuing a devserv command DS QD,nnnn,1

Since FREE SPACE and ALLOC SPACE is being reported, can this information not be used to provide emulated device type or get the information from device services.

You have to be careful that you do ICKDSF REFVTOC's on any volumes that are converted from say a Mod27 to a Mod-54 as well, otherwise the system still see's them as their original size. and their full capacity is not exploited.

I think we should add a new column for Total Capacity.
