SDSF - LOG - FILTER

When invoking SDSF LOG… have SDSF check to see if a filter is defined, if one is defined… display the FILTER panel (ISFAFIL) prior to display the OPERLOG or SYSLOG.

This will inform and allow the user to change the defined filters in advance, prior to displaying the OPERLOG.

Our OPERLOG is huge, on an average day (24 hour period) the OPERLOG will contain 47 million records.

To FILTER/display only messages containing the text string IGW*, it will take 1 to 2 minutes to search and display these messages.

What occurs, is the next time the user invokes SDSF LOG, it will re-search for the filtered text, tying up their terminal for 1-2 minutes, when in fact, the user did not want to filter on IGW* messages, they really wanted to display all the messages.
