The Itau bank has 2 large sysplex, the Bank and Cards, both systems are user of IBM DFSMSrmm product. Our 2 environments have the GDPS MGM (Metro/Global Mirror) with hyperswap solution, periodically we run our Disaster Recovery Test on Site C to check all procedures, products and programs in case of site outages on Site A and B, during the recently DR tests we faced a issue with the DFSMSrmm CDS database were the file was corrupted and it's was necessary to recover.
It happens because this situation described on the RMM manual "z/OS DFSMSrmm Implementation and Customization Guide":
"Ensuring a consistent copy of the DFSMSrmm CDS:
XRC, PPRC, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror
These options use DASD mirroring technologies to create a copy of the CDS. Forward recovery from journal records is required to ensure the copy is not fuzzy. Although the mirroring technologies create copies that are consistent with the source data, because of the way DFSMSrmm updates its CDS, the CDS records themselves might not be consistent. The journal records are written before the CDS is updated, so the most recent complete set of journal records can be used to de-fuzz the CDS."
