Currently we use z/SMB to mount z/OS file systems on our microsoft windows workstations.
Because of a security hole in SMB V1 our security team wants to turn off the SMB V1 support on the workstations.
Unfortunately zSMB is stabilized and will never support a higher version than V1 (see PMR 90427,060,618)
According to this pmr 90427,060,618 the strategic product for file sharing is NFS.
For this reason, we have started to deal with nfs.
As it turns out, NFS is not yet a suitable replacement for zSMB. (see PMR 90607,060,618)
The windows NFS client only supports version 4.1, the z/NFS server only supports version 4.0 and at least in conjunction with Kerberos this does not work without an additional client to buy (Opentext NFS-Cleint)

Currently Microsoft Windows 10 native NFS Client supports NFS Version 3 only.
As of today February 23 2018 there is no native Windows NFS Client with NFSv4.1.
Currently Microsoft Windows 10 native NFS Client support NFS Version 3 only.
See PMR 31605,077,724
zDFS/SMB doesn't support Win10. Win10 is a planned release for a lot of companies. There is actually no secure way to replace zDFS/SMB (what is funcionally stabilized). So IBM dares the customer to buy additional software to replace an existing function.
