This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

While testing out zEDC authorized services running in synchronous mode on a z15, we noticed pairs of STORAGE OBTAINS/RELEASES surrounding each call to FPZ4ABC, leading to increased CPU time. After opening a PMR, it was revealed that these requests are done in order to manage a module dynamic area and history buffer. I was instructed to open this RFE for the zEDC developers to take a look at the design on the FPZ4ABC service.
The PMR also revealed that the zEDC documentation was lacking for the authorized services on the z15. Apparently, FPZ4RZV/RMR/DMR/URZ do not need to be called while on a z15, only FPZ4ABC needs to be called. This information is nowhere to be found in the zEDC documentation. I believe the doc should be updated to indicate this as it can save overhead and simplify the calling of these authorized services.
