z/OSMF Workflow Syntax Check for input variables

Currently, z/OSMF seems to not be able to check input fields for the correct syntax. In case of wrong input fields, z/OSMF just accepts the input and continues. This is even worse in case of e.g. provisioning a black box like zCX.

For example: zCX provisioning field ZCX_HOSTDNS_SEARCH values have to be separated by blanks. ZCX_NO_PROXY values have to be separated by comma. There are different delimiters because the values are just passed to the final instance. But this could be tricky if you copy/paste from one field to another. The resultend zCX instance doesn't throw any error. Such wrong values are hard to find and could be time intensive.

    We had the issue specially on zCX Provisioning Workflows. Please check TS007322403 for a detailed description / check with zCX development whether this would help. According to them it's actually not possible in z/OSMF Workflows.

    In the workflow definition file, you can define validation criteria for ???string' type workflow variables in different ways: , and . Please check if this function can address your requirement. For details, please refer to z/OSMF Programming Guide. Thanks.
