This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Ron - fair point that &DSN or &OLDDSN may not be the only determining factors to distinguish Prod & Test data. I'm not quite sure what the 'DFP segment' means, is that the &DEF_MGMTCLAS type value from RACF for example? If that would be different to &MGMTCLAS that may be another means to compare if &MGMTCLAS was the 'old' original value and &DEF_MGMTCLAS was the 'new'.
Difficult thing as in the use case could be that different sites have different way of determine prod/test datasets. for instance, we use DFP segment for that. Than you would also need to no this (and other?) old values..
Although we have no need for this function at this time, the request does seem reasonable.
