Hi James, please can we get the number of the APAR ? Many thanks and br, Lars.
Is there any update on this APAR? I think the last update said in would be available Q3-Q4 (I assumed 2022 :)).
We do not have a ++APAR available. If you are interested in testing the new function, please contact me (anwilt@us.ibm.com), and I'll reach out to you when we are getting close. In the meantime, it would be beneficial to get the PTF for OA63128 applied across your HSMPlex. It is coexistence support that will be needed once you have the new function on one system in the HSMPlex.
Andrew
Hi all
Is there allready a ++APAR avaiable? We are very interested to test the new and hopefully better EXPIREBV. We backup over 20'000 USS files every day. No change to cleanup expired backups during 24h.
Great. I'll ask Andrew to reach out to you with the specifics (date, etc). It will effect EXPIREBV for file backups, regardless of the host type (classic or file mode).
Hi, yes we are interested in a ++APAR. Do you know any target date for this?
And by the way, does this also effect the classical expirebv stuff or is that ++APAR only for the file mode host?
Hi Daniel, Andrew and team have begun working on it. Target is 3Q - 4Q of this year. Would you be able to be part of an early test? Thanks.
Any news regarding a target date for this APAR?
'Planned for Future Release' is the status in RFE to indicate that IBM plans to deliver a solution. You can be sure that we will deliver a solution for this RFE to all releases to which clients request, including 2.4.
We are also interested to solve this backward until a minimum of z/OS 2.4. Can you please check a possible target date + can you change the Status from "future release" to anyone which will give the hint that it is rolled back to older releases?
We plan to provide relief via a D-Type APAR in the service stream.
Of course, I opened a case to solve the problem. However, the cause of the problem is bad design and therefore IBM asked to open this RFE.
I can't presume you opened a case with IBM to address your concern. If you did open a case, what was their response? Did they direct you to create an RFE?
