Hello there at RFE-Center,
we have to use 4-Char Cipher Specs in our zOS Web Client applications. These clients use the z/OS web client enablement toolkit, version 2.4.
I know that the toolkit provides the HWTHSET call with the option HWTH_OPT_SSLCIPHERSPECS and that I can specify 4 character Cipher-Suites via that option. In my opinion that is not sufficiant. It would be fine to make it possible specifying Cipher-Suites via an environment-variable.
I know there exists APAR OA53546. Some other customer seemed to have the same problem as we have. What can we, what can you do to enable the enablement toolkit to honor existing environment variables (as it does with HWTH_OPT_SSLTRACE and HWTH_OPT_VERBOSE if I see that correctly)?
The last weeks we had a support case with number TS004450817. Maybe you can have a look at that case, too.
