In V2R3 the system will attempt to automatically start the z/OSMF server. If a site shares the IEASYSxx member across multiple systems running different releases, and needs to disable the auto start feature this could cause IPL issues with down level systems if those systems do not recognize the IZU= statement.
Since it desirable to have z/OSMF started early in the IPL process, Request that on V2R3 systems and greater that if the statement IZU= is NOT code in IEASYSxx, then the system will attempt to read an IZUPRM00 member if present. Otherwise it defaults to the existing behavior and attempts to start z/OSMF.
This will allow systems running on V2R3 and greater to exploit or disable z/OSMF Auto start feature, without impacting system running down level.

In general the WARUND parameter is provided with IEASYSxx to make the down level systems ignore new release parameters. In this case you make the point that to disable the autostart function you must provide a value for IZU= which won't work without the specification of WARUND... Why not use WARUND?
