This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

After the migration to z/OS 2.4 the number of CICS getmains increased by 40 percent.
This tremendous increase is caused by the introduction of the new Language Environment parameter CEENXSTG.
CEENXSTG is a parameter that indicates whether non-executable memory is enabled. ON implies Non-executable memory is enabled.
OFF says Non-executable memory is not enabled. If an installation chooses to set OFF, that memory will be marked executable.
In a CICS environment CEENXSTG is not proper designed to work together with the CICS TS AUTODST (automatic dynamic storage tuning) functionality. AUTODST has been introduced to lower the number of Getmains done by LE. With the new parameter CEENXSTG the number of Getmains are increasing in both cases setting ON or OFF for CEENXSTG.
CICS AUTODST parameter and LE are working tied together. The current design of the LE automatic storage tuning for CICS unfortunately does not support the use of 2 types of HEAPs and therefore the increase in the number of CICS getmains is a negative result. The LE software support team asks us to open a RFE to change the design of CEENXSTG with CICS and LE.
The increase of CICS getmains introduced with CEENXSTG causes about additional 360 million CICS getmains per hour in our installation. This increase will produce an extra cost in MSUs of around 20,000 MSUs per year for our TFP contract. Customers still using MLC contract will also suffer by an increase of MSU usage in their R4HA intervall.
