Rust Language Support for z/OS

Rust is a very powerful, memory safe system programming language that would be extremely useful on the mainframe platform. Rust would also be able to use existing z/OS C libraries as it natively supports linking to C libraries. My hope would be support for / usability of all rustup components on z/OS and a z/OS cross-compilation target to be able to build Rust applications for z/OS on other platforms.
