hello,

our z/VM team currently performs this task for us.

via something called DFSMSRM, this includes

a better Q LIB VOL command as well as

set volcat volume


by chance can z/OS have similar capabilities?

    As indicated previously, with z/OS we have the ability to update the DEVSUPxx PARMLIB member categories using a DEVSERV command and we also have the ability to move volumes from private to private and from scratch to scratch which will update the categories to the current DEVSUPxx categories for that system. We were looking for more detail on the category change that you would be looking for us to make under z/OS (the from and to category). Is it to another set of z/OS categories used by another set of systems? Something else? If this requirement is still important to you, please open a new requirement with additional detail so we can determine if this is something that we should provide or not.
