HSM should have a similar performance to TSM

After IBM has discontinued TSM product, all possible alternatives to backup ZFS on a file basis with HSM result in unassumable CPU consumption and performance (CPU time).

We have considered and tested all these alternatives, ours and those provided by IBM, with unacceptable results.

So our idea is not that the HSM lab implement a solution to improve a MASH environment. We propose, based on our experience and the IBM products we have contracted, that HSM have a performance similar to TSM in execution time and especially in CPU consumption.

Clients that have implemented TSM in their sites are probably willing to accept a new HSM architecture similar to the existing TSM architecture, having a TSM server in a distributed environment pulling a Z/OS client that could be created within HSM, but it should have a performance and CPU consumption comparable to the discontinued TSM architecture.
