Hi IBM,
today we use IEFUSI to adjust Region Limit and Region Size for z/OS Address Spaces.
With this Exit, we also make sure that we have a sufficiently large difference between Region Limit (LDALIMIT/LDAELIM) and Region Size (LDAVVRG/LDAEVVRG).
z/OS init and tuning guide explains the diffence between region size and region limit:
The region size is the amount of storage in the user region available to the job, started task, or TSO/E user.
the region size determines the maximum amount of storage that can be allocated to a job by any single variable-length GETMAIN request.
The region limit is the maximum total storage that can be allocated to a job by any combination of requests for additional storage using the GETMAIN or STORAGE macros.
It is, in effect, a second limit on the size of the user's private area, imposed when the region size is exceeded.
because managing the region values with the IEFUSI exit involves a lot of effort and overhead we would like to switch to SMFLIM.
Unfortunately there is no SMFLIM parameter to set the LDAVVRG and LDAEVVRG values.
can you please introduce SMFLIM parameters to set the LDAVVRG and LDAEVVRG values
kind regards
Christoph Bühning
