Enabling CF R/W data structures access from zCX containers/OCP on zCX

As part of a mainframe application modernization project, the customer (that's me) aims to adopt the Application Centric pattern. This involves rewriting certain portions of the application from Cobol to Java and deploying them on zCX thereby capitalizing on the co-location pattern. The intention is to utilize mainframe DB2 for persistence, implement the Data Centric pattern.

The existing CICS application being modernized relies heavily on CF structures such as CF Data Table, Named Counter, and Temp Storage. These structures, crucial for core business operations demanding ultra-low latency and rapid response times (e.g., real-time payments or debit/credit card processing), pose a challenge when migrating to Java on zCX due to the inability to leverage CF data structures.

A potential solution is to develop a set of APIs allowing Java applications within zCX to access CF data, utilizing the same coupling links already available for the Sysplex LPAR’s.
