This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The current experience for when a TSO user opens GDG tape datasets via dynamic allocation is the user will receive message on screen "OPERATOR ACTION HAS BEEN REQUESTED FOR YOUR DATA SET" for each dataset referenced. This happens because a TPUT is issued for message IEC108I. This can become irritating for the user if there are many datasets in the GDG because the Enter key must be pressed many times to clear the screen. An option to suppress this TSO message would improve the user experience for this case.

to clarify this IEC108I issued to the TSO user is the result of IEC501A mount message. In VTS/ATL/MTL environments where mounts should occur almost instantly, there should be no reason to issue the IEC108I to alert the user the mount take awhile.
