Is IBM health check VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED still required under zOS v3.1 ?

Before this z/OS 3.1 line item, it used to be that if you had DFSMStvs installed and not enabled, the Health Check VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED check would generate the Health Check exception IGWRH0301E. With this z/OS 3.1 line item now, z/OS always has DFSMStvs installed and, if you have not enabled it, the check will just display the informational message IGWRH0301I instead. You are not required to enable DFSMStvs if you do not use DFSMStvs. The VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED health check is not required, unless you want to be sure DFSMStvs has been enabled before you use DFSMStvs.

Since with this line item DFSMStvs is always installed free of charge, the VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED check will never display the IGWRH0302I informational message that says DFSMStvs is not installed.

Also, again, with this 3.1 line item, you will never get the IGWRH0301E exception -- if you do the VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED health check and you have not enabled DFSMStvs, you will only get the IGWRH0301I informational message. As usual, if you do not need to use DFSMStvs, you need not enable DFSMStvs. Of course, if you do not want to see any Health Check exceptions or messages from the VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED check, and you do not want to use DFSMStvs, simply do not do the VSAMRLS_TVS_ENABLED health check.

Hello, I suspect this check was implemented to highlight to a customer that they had installed the then paid for DFSMStvs product but had not enabled it. Now DFSMStvs is included in the base from zOS v3.1, this check will except for every customer who doesn't want to enable it. So yes, I'm querying the validity of the check from zOS v3.1.
