IEBPTPCH includes a module IEBPPCH1 which includes SIIS coding and it causes increase CPU TIME under z15 or z16.

This client migrated hardware from zEC12 to z15 and z16 with z/OS V2R1 to V2R5.

IEBPTPCH CPU time increased four times after migration of hardware and z/OS.

We opened a case as TS019579686 and SME recommended us to open IBM ideas as follows.

From SMF113, I could see SIIS indication and really bad CPI during the job execution timing. As we expect, you affected by the HW changes not by z/OS change.

I'll discuss with team about improvement of the IEBPPCH1 code.

Developmet team also agreed our conclusion. IEBPPCH1 includes SIIS coding.

But as I've already told you, it's not a DEFECT.. just a non efficient coding for this era.

It's not so simple to fix the code for this case. So, please open IBM Ideas for this topic. Development want to put this their backlog queue.

If many customer agreed this idea(improve the performance of IEBPTPCH), priority will be up.
