VARY SYNTAXCHECK for OMPROUTE configuration file

OMPROUTE had failed with the following configuration statements:
;
Interface
IP_Address=a.b.c.d
Name=interface1
Subnet_Mask=255.255.255.0
Destination_Addr=0.0.0.0
RIP_Interface
IP_Address=a.b.c.*
Name=dummy
Subnet_Mask=255.255.255.224

EZZ7830I SYNTAX ERROR AT LINE nn OF OMPROUTE CONFIGURATION FILE PROCESSING RIP_INTERFACE
EZZ8074I OMPROUTE PROCESSING ERROR
EZZ7805I OMPROUTE EXITING ABNORMALLY - RC(12)

The abend occurred because the first INTERFACE statement had the missing required semicolon to indicate end of statement. Problem started when the second RIP_INTERFACE statement was added after the first INTERFACE statement that did not have the terminating semicolon. While OMPROUTE requires statements to be terminated with semicolons, it does not abend when there is only one statement without a terminating semicolon.

    V TCPIP,,SYNTAXCHECK,SYS1.TCPPARMS(OMPCONF) should properly validate OMPROUTE statements. Business value is to provide a resource that can be utilized in creating a step in dev-ops automation of OMPROUTE Configuration related changes reducing potential down time due to errors before implementing changes.
