This would be a great enhancement. Today, many customers install SAP BEFORE the network has been made to have no SPoFs. Later they change the network under the SAP application. This usually means lots of changes to SAP configuration. If customers could choose hostnames ahead of time with names that assume that VIPA/OSPF is in use, then automation could be setup to use these "virtual" hostnames. Later when the network big bang comes along to turn on VIPA, no changes are needed in SAP nor Automation. With the naming convention used for virtual names for invidudual SAP components, it is very easy to clone these names for newly created SAP systems.
I like the requirement because it simplifies the moddvipa command and reduces the error rate by entering a wrong IP address.
