Allow user to update config of SSH CLI container for security-related control

Currently, for the SSH CLI container embedded in zCX address space, users are not allowed to update any parms for the SSH server and this will only pick the default Openssh configs for its execution, meaning clients are allowed to use some old and un-preferred protocols for connection.

However, we have our in-house audit requirements and security standard for SSH servers that we need to customize those in IBM Z to run under specific configuration in parms like Ciphers, MACs, KexAlgorithms, etc., so that all the connections established under SSH meet our inhouse security standard. With the SSH CLI picking the OpenSSH defaults, clients are allowed to use some old and un-preferred protocols to connect to zCX. This is violating our in-house audit requirements and security standards.

As such, please update the SSH CLI container to allow users to update the configs so that we could adjust it to meet our inhouse requirements.

    Hi

I support this approach and vote for it. Please have as well a look into Idea https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/ZOS-I-3817 which should enable zERT to observe zCX traffic as well which would allow to apply the zERT enforcement as well for zCX, allowing to enforce company internal requirements embedded to zERT rules.
