z/VM-RACF without DASD/ECKD storage

Remove current existing pre-requisite for needing DASD/ECKD attached storage when using z/VM-RACF.
There are customers who do not use DASD/ECKD storage. Especially these are new System z customers running Linux on the mainframe. Typically these new customers are comming from distributed environments with SAN storage and not willing or not able to change the architecture of their disk environment.
Most of theses customers want to benefit from virtualized z/VM environment and run Linux as guests. Compliance and regulations (like PCI-DSS, BSI,...) demand increased security combined environments according Common Criteria and EAL4. z/VM certification for EAL4 is only valid with installed RACF. We should provide also for SAN/FCP storage customers the chance to use RACF.

I got contacted by Winfried Muench from EFIS AG:
EFiS-EDI Finance Service AG, Am Weiher 3, D-63303 Dreieich
Telefon: +49-(0)6103-98720 - Fax: +49-(0)6103-9872-22
E-Mail: info@efis.de - Internet: http://www.efis.de
Reg.-Nr.: HRB 40398 - Amtsgericht Offenbach - Ust.-ID-Nr.: DE 11352 7971
EFiS AG will be faced with PCI-DSS requirements (auditing). So EFIS will have to consider to use RACF on z/VM, but they do not have DASD/ECKD storage.
Please note, all our z/VM collegues from Endicott always recommend to use RACF,..., but there are cases where specific support is missing.

Add. Info: I was not able to create this requirement for EFIS and have it "visibility: public" - As soon as I specify z/VM and product or component, it gets automatically "private". - I will inform EFiS via email, that their requirement has been entered in our system.
