More than 1 TB Real memory for z/VM

Customer needs far more than 1 TB real memory supported by z/VM running in one LPAR. Customer wants to run a Datawarehouse solution in Linux in z/VM environment. Datawarehouse of customer needs about 3 TB memory. Therefore customer thinks having the limit increased from 1 TB to 4 TB should be a first step.

    z/VM support for up to 2 TB of real memory is available in z/VM V6.4.

    There is not a committed target that we will be working toward in our next incremental improvement but we are looking at supporting more than 1TB of central memory... Thank You, Dan Griffith

    hI,
    Brian asked me to verify again with customer. Here the answer:
    1) Customer needs more real memory in LPAR, i.e. for z/VM - should be about 4 TB for now.
    2) As of today, the limit of 1 TB per Guest is not an issue - But in future,...
    As of performance customer wants to avoir paging.
