support for huge pages for Oracle running on Linux in z/VM environment

Provide z/VM support for running Oracle DB in Linux for System z (running as z/VM guest) with huge page support.

Please note, we know from customer tests that using huge page support makes really a big performance difference (when running in LPAR). We need also performance increase when running Linux as a guest, as for flexibility and licensing running Oracle in Linux on LPAR is not alway an option. - There have been cases, where we alredy lost the System z bid as z/VM did not provide the necessary performance.

(...)
You are well aware of these limitations, I'd guess, but the fact is that these are both show-stoppers. Using Huge page is very important for Oracle performance and running Oracle on z/VM is important for licensing reasons (...)
(...)
We'd really appreciate these features being included in future release of z/VM releases.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can help in any way.
