Reduction CPU cost for Set Rdev command of z/VM

zLinux on z / VM is running integrated DB server with 24 x 365. When adding DASD etc., I use dynamic I / O Reconfig function.
In order to connect the new DASD to the z / VM system running at 24 x 365 and recognize it, the SET RDEV command is executed with the range specification. When the range width is large, the CPU overhead increases extremely. Increasing the load of the SET RDEV command becomes a problem when this SET RDEV command is executed with high CPU load.
In order to reduce the CPU overhead, control such as serializing processing or designating priority of processing can be performed.
