z/VM Support for Transactional Execution Facility (TX)

Transactional Execution facility is a hardware feature first made available on the EC12 mainframe released in 2012 and has been supported on zOS 2.1 since 2013.
The feature enables a more efficient and simpler way of updating core resident data in a mutiple engine environment. The support requires programmers to utilize the TBEGINC and TEND macros in their code, but their use in both zOS and zTPF operating systems is limited by the restriction that zOS must be able to operate as a host under zVM and in zTPF which must run in a VPARs test environment under zVM.
.
This RFE requests Transactional Execution Support in the zVM operating system.
