RELATED IDEAS

HSM needs to be able to COPY DUMP VOLUMES and update the BCDS. This is media change like moving from one VTS to Another VTS.

When Migrating to different MEDIA in HSM RECYCLE can be used to move ML2 and BACKUP volumes. The DUMP VOLUMES have no way to be moved where the CDS is updated also. Over the years in doing mergers, splits, and media upgrades this is always a issue. The dump volumes always end getting copied using DSS COPYDUMP and then manually managed till they expire. HSM needs to have a tool to copy the DUMP VOLUMES and update the CDS so that HSM still has control of the volumes.

    This item is a valid requirement but unlikely to be given high enough priority to be placed into the product plan. If this requirement is high value, please re-open it, or open a new requirement. In general, clients have a tape copy utility that they use to migrate HSM Dump copies to maintain the volser.
