This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

We are running z/OS 2.3 and we have Encryption Facility for z/OS (FMID HCF7740). We have a limited number of applications using the product at this time, but we would like to introduce it to more applications. There are a couple of factors limiting our appetite for the product's usage to become too widespread, they are as follows:
1) We are not thrilled that the public keys (used for encryption) are stored in a USS Keystore. We prefer if the keys could be managed by EKMF and somehow placed in ICSF rather than the USS keystore. We don't like the Idea of having several different application keys in a common USS keystore protected by USS security, where all applications require read access to a common keystore
2) Conversely, If we created a separate USS Keystrore per application to store the public keys, this solution would be very difficult to manage .
Can you advise if there could be some development done to allow us to manage our Encryption Facility for z/OS Keys with EKMF, as this is our Key Management solution. Also, storing the Keys in ICSF would be ideal, since it offers much better security.
I am trying to open an RFE, but I am unable to find Encryption Facility for z/OS when I search products in RFE.
Please advise regarding my requirement.
Thanks .
