This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

The z/OS Connect EE product utilises the WET to communicate from a C stub library to the z/OS Connect server. As part of servicability work, we added the capability to redirect diagnostic logging to a DD, much like the HWTH_OPT_VERBOSE_OUTPUT option that the WET has. However, specifying the same DD card for the WET output and our output results in an "Already open" error from the WET when it tries to open the destination. Having the ability to use the same output destination allows for interleaving of requests; we can track individual requests through our stub code, into the WET, back into the stub via callback code (twice) and then the return from the WET. As it stands, redirected output is in separate locations.
