True browse for large Unix *text* files (EBCDIC/ASCII/codepage) Merged

Customer has very large ASCII text files in the Unix filesystem that he would like to browse. Currently ASCII text files can only really be handled by edit/view, which read the entire file into memory, resulting in significant initial delay and possible memory exhaustion.
