Hello IBM,
It is a critical requirement for products such as GDPS, that messages are seen by the product.
This involves a significant amount of expertise and time to check z/OS, NetView and SA components to ensure that certain messages are not manipulated, for example, by MPF, MRT, MFA, IEAVMXIT etc. This exercise also has to be done not only at GDPS install time, but also at the time of RSU/PTF updates, provided HOLDDATA exists relating to a message change.
The danger exists here, that if something is overlooked, it could have severe consequences.
We know GDPS provides HealthChecks for many areas of its configuration, but again, something could be overlooked, or an alarm missed.
We'd like to request, that z/OS provides a solution to prevent manipulation of a message as it travels along it's path. For example, an additional parameter to SVC35 (WTO/WTOR), something like MANIPULATE=NO, which indicates that this message is not allowed to be modified by such components as those mentioned above (e.g. MPF, MRT, MFA, IEAVMXIT). That way, we can rest assured the message is going to be seen further down the chain/path.
Many thanks and regards,
Kevan Dunstan
