Need method to repair "admin" ID

The issue is that when logged in as the admin user that was built from the provision workflow, and /home/admin file/directory permissions get changed, including .ssh to something that SSH doesnt like, causes subsequent SSH logins to fail. Since the password is not known, and cannot be set, this makes the admin ID unusable for future use.
