This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

One of our customers has an JCL job with an FTP step. They are using SITE parameters in that step. When there is an error on the SITE parameter, the user wants to the job to exit with a RC higher than 0. They would prefer RC16. I am not able to help them with this. I ran several scenarios using a test JCL with a bad SITE parameter value, and I see an error returned in the job log:
"
EZA1701I >>> SITE XTRAILINGBLANKS
SC3309 getReply: entered
SC4403 getNextReply: entered with waitForData = TRUE
200-Unrecognized parameter 'XTRAILINGBLANKS' on SITE command.
SC4403 getNextReply: entered with waitForData = TRUE
"
IBM support tells us that the behavior on an invalid SITE parameter is FAD. It was recommended by IBM that we use a client exit EZAFCEXT for this, but that is against our standards. Our customer would like to see a change to actually exit on an invalid SITE parameter.
