Our customer hopes that sub group capping setting can be defined in group capping.
When LPARs defined as sub group cap use the limit of sub group cap limit,capping begins
and the rest of resource(=Group Cap Limit - Sub Group Cap Limit) is used among the
other LPARS.
<background>
Our customers using a group capping function for 6 LPARs(production x2, test x2) at
z13. The other day one of test systems used a lot of cpu resource.Then,group capping
began and performance of production systems was down because of cpu resource shortage.
Group capping setting is as follows.
LPAR_Name Group_Name Group_Cap_Limit
prod1 ALL 500
prod2 ALL 500
test1 ALL 500
test2 ALL 500
test3 ALL 500
test4 ALL 500
