NPIV support in HCD and IOCP

The NPIV setting of an FCP channel would be better driven from IOCP. In this way, a customer would eliminate a step in configuring FCP channels if NPIV were desired. Hard to imagine that a customer would have two different settings for an FCP channel based on LPAR. Then, if the "FCP Configuration" task were added to the HMC, a customer would need only the one task to manage the FCP channel under PR/SM (does not apply to DPM).

.PER SME Andrew no response was give to the request "We'd like to understand your request in a bit more detail in terms of the problem being solved and granularity such a solution would be required to provide. For example, if we offered a new global HMC/SE setting whereby you indicate that we should use NPIV (or not use NPIV) as the default setting for all FCP channels (and dynamic adds of channels or LPARs to the candidate list), would such a single setting address your concern adequately?"
