IEBPDSE enhancement for data pages overlaid

Our customer encountered JES2 ABEND because HASJES20 was corrupted after the PDSE had been copied from the test system. Contents in 4 data pages(just 16KB) were certainly different from original. But IEBPDSE utility cannot check out.

Our customer want to check out the data curruption. There are invalid data in PDSE member even though the data pages are consistent with index pages and directry data.

    .We have not heard a response but still recognize the need for the occasional member validation. Due to the conditions under which members could be corrupted, it is unlikely that we could do anything more than detect for member corruption.

    .I am trying to clarify the desire here. Is this a request for IEBPDSE to additionally validate that each member can be read in addition to the directory validation that is performed?

    We've looked at this RFE last week and recognized the possibility of adding the validation of member pages to IEBPDSE in future releases .

    IEBPDSE, or some other utility, must be provided to dynamically fix corrupted PDSE's. The sad part is that the corruption may not make itself known immediately and by the time it is discovered the most recent backups may not be adequate to recover.
