IOEFSUTL format and other functions should identify the Version of the zFS formatted or changed

When formatting a zFS, IOEFSUTL does not identify what Version of zFS (currently V4 or V5) that it actually formatted. As seen in the Use Case in this requirement, lots of data about bytes and traces and details of the service level of the tool itself, but nothing about what Version it decided to format the zFS as.

This will probably be a fairly low priority item.

As a work around please use the zfsadm fsinfo command
    zfsadm fsinfo -aggregate name

The aggregate does not need to be mounted when the full name of the aggregate is used.
If it is more convenient, you can invoke zfsadm fsinfo from JCL. See the Chapter 11. zFS Commands zfsadm fsinfo for example JCL.

In both cases, zFS must be up and running.
